About the Author

As a licensed Waldorf teacher, Madhu Devi understands the important connection between imagination and creativity. Born in Canada and raised in a Canadian Cambodian family, Madhu currently resides in Thailand where she embraces her passion for cultural storytelling. Since obtaining her Waldorf certification through Antioch University, Madhu has continued her passion for holistic and alternative education by creating Devi Sri Books.

Devi Sri Books main aim is to create high quality Waldorf-style Krishna books for children. Devi Sri Books brings children and families on a magical journey of storytelling through beautifully illustrated watercolor pages that pay homage to Madhu’s culturally diverse background. By sharing stories about Krishna through her upcoming Waldorf-style books, Madhu has created a poetic platform of cultural representation for South Asian, South East Asian and Hindu backgrounds.

Besides her love of teaching and narration, Madhu’s passion for life is exemplified through her innovation, health, and wellness. Madhu has been practicing Bhakti yoga for over 13 years, where she enjoys singing kirtan, and plant-based cooking.

A dream come true

Madhu hopes to have a beautiful collection of illustrated storybooks for families to enjoy together. Her determination to bring these Krishna books into the world is just the seedling to inspire Krishna’s love into the hearts of children. Her dream is becoming a reality.

Madhu currently teaches kindergarten at a Buddhist Waldorf inspired school in Thailand.

Story as a meditation
